A big hello to you all out there, I’m Nikki and I have a son Jaden who is 6 months old and I am 13 weeks pregnant. Here is my story… I was 14 when I met Glenn my partner, we fell for each other instantly. I met Glenn’s parents the day after we met as he asked me to a bbq at his house, everything went fine! So he decided to meet my parents and that went fine too. Our relationship was brilliant, after 1 and a half years Glenn proposed and even though I was only 15 I knew it was meant to be so I said yes! Everyone were really pleased for us even my mum which surprised me. Things didn’t always stay happy in my life thou, my mum and step dad was going through some trouble in their relationship, and without going into too much detail it was hell for me to live there, so me and Glenn decided it would be best for me to move in with him and his parents. So I asked my mum if I could go but she said no she was having none of it I was 16 at this time so I didn’t understand why she had a problem with it but she stopped me from seeing Glenn and took my phone off me so I couldn’t contact him. One day before school I took my phone back and managed to get in contact with Glenn and he could tell I was desperate to leave so he said to wait at the school gates and he would come up and get me. So that’s what I did and that’s the day I left home, my mum was ringing me when I didn’t come home from school and demanding me to come back or else she would get the police to come and pick me up and the conversation went on and on. I think my mum finally realized I wasn’t coming back home so she kind of gave in. Later that year Glenn’s Nan was getting really ill she had cancer and was getting worse, me and Glenn were talking one day and came to a decision to get married so that his Nan could see at least one of her grandchildren getting married before she passed away. So I contacted my mum and asked if she would give her permission for us to get married (as I had to have both parents consent for me to get married in a church as I was only 16) but she would not give me her permission so we then said that we would go to Gretna green!! So we got booking places and we set a date for 22nd July 2005 (so that I wasn’t still in school haha). I sent an invite up for my mum but she must of just thrown it away. Me and Glenn then got married on 22nd July unfortunately his nan passed away at the end of march so she missed the wedding but she was still there in our hearts and it was the best day of our life and I have no regrets at all!! We had 2 weeks up in the Lake District for out honeymoon and it was just perfect. The day we came back from the Lake District we were moving into our 1st house. Everything went fine and we got settled in great. After a few months of being married and in our own house, we decided to start trying for a baby, nothing happened for 6 months but I wasn’t getting periods so every month I was thinking that I was pregnant and it was really getting me down, so I decided to go to the doctors and they sent me up to the hospital so they could do fertility tests on me. Nothing came back from the tests, and I still wasn’t pregnant after a year of trying, so I went back to the doctors and he sent me for a scan to check see if I had POS (Polycystic ovary syndrome) but the results for that came back fine too. Then finally after another 2 months we fell pregnant with our first baby Jaden. I had a fantastic pregnancy with Jaden and he was born on the 17th May 2007 a healthy 7lb 5oz, I had to be induced as my waters broke but I didn’t go into labour naturally and there was a risk of infection going to the baby. I was in labour a whole 16 hours and had no sleep for 3 days as I was still leaking water, there were just me and Glenn in the room when I had Jaden and I wouldn’t of had it any other way it was so special, Glenn cried his eyes out, I think I was just glad he was out and glad I could get some sleep haha. I had to stay in hospital for 2 nights after the birth to make sure everything was ok. Both me and Jaden were checked over by the doctor and allowed home. I have found bringing up Jaden very hard work because I am still only 18 and it was very hard for both me and Glenn when he got colic, but we got through it together and he is the most pleasant happy baby now. I found out when Jaden was only 4 month old that we are expecting another baby, I was on the pill when I had Jaden but obviously it was meant to be. So I am 3 month pregnant with baby number 2. If I had the chance to do anything differently I would not change a thing as we are so happy with what we have and Jaden is the light of our lives, he is the best thing that has ever happened to us. I owe a HUGE thank you to this site though as when times have been hard I have always had someone to talk to on here and everyone is full of advice! Having the friends that I have on here has made me a better mum and a better person so I just want to thank everyone!!
